R110 is a kind of Treated Fumed Silica. One of the most important areas of hydrophobic silica is in defoaming agents. Its main application is as an anti-caking agent. It is especially suitable as an anti-caking agent in water-sensitive powders, and can improve the fluidity and storage stability of the powders; it is also commonly used in rubber reinforcing agents and defoaming agents.
As the main component of the defoamer, simethicone has low solubility and low dispersibility. It is necessary to use silica, emulsifiers and other dispersing aids to improve its dispersing effect. With the use of silica, the silicone oil can quickly spread in the foaming liquid, which improves the dispersion efficiency of the silicone oil, thereby improving the defoaming effect.
