Overview
Ceramic Fiber Blanket 1360°C High-Purity is the intermediate-temperature specification within the ceramic fiber blanket range — needle-punched amorphous alumina-silica fiber blanket with controlled Al₂O₃ enrichment (47–52%) and reduced impurity content delivering a 100°C extended continuous service ceiling versus the standard 1260°C grade. The chemistry adjustment shifts the fiber's amorphous-to-crystalline transition temperature upward, postponing the recrystallisation-driven shrinkage failure that limits the standard grade.
The 1360°C high-purity grade is the cost-effective bridge between the price-sensitive 1260°C standard and the premium polycrystalline / mullite grades that command 2× material cost. The 100°C temperature ceiling extension addresses approximately 15% of industrial insulation specifications — applications where the 1260°C limit creates operational margin concerns but the 1430–1600°C performance is not required:
- Glass industry cold-face insulation — backup behind 1500°C+ mullite hot-face in glass melter wall assemblies
- Intermediate-temperature ceramic kilns — 1100–1300°C continuous service with periodic operational excursions

Applications
Glass Industry Cold-Face Insulation
Glass tank melters and forehearths operating in the 1450–1550°C range use 1360°C high-purity blanket as the cold-face insulation (75–100 mm thick), positioned behind a 1600°C mullite hot face. The cold-face role exposes the blanket to roughly 60–70% of peak hot-face temperature — well within the 1360°C continuous service ceiling — while providing the bulk of the wall-section thermal resistance.
Intermediate-Temperature Ceramic Kilns
Ceramic firing kilns operating at 1100–1300°C — tile kilns, refractory firing kilns, technical ceramic sintering furnaces — use 1360°C high-purity blanket as the hot-face insulation. The 100°C temperature ceiling margin above peak operating temperature accommodates kiln upset conditions and start-up overshoot without driving the lining into recrystallisation-failure territory.
Petrochemical Middle-Layer Backup
Petrochemical fired heater multi-layer insulation assemblies use 1360°C high-purity as the middle layer between a 1430°C HP hot face and standard 1260°C cold face. The grade-layering approach optimises the procurement cost per square metre of installed insulation, with premium grades concentrated at the highest-temperature position and cost-effective grades carrying the bulk of the wall thickness.
High-Temperature Heat Treatment Furnaces
Steel heat treatment furnaces — austenitisation, solution annealing, normalising — operating at 1100–1350°C use 1360°C high-purity blanket as the primary lining. The reduced Fe₂O₃ content (≤0.5%) is significant for alloy-grade heat treatment where surface decarburisation and atmospheric contamination are quality-critical, complementing the temperature-performance advantage over standard amorphous grade.
Semiconductor and Specialty Industrial Furnaces
Specialty industrial furnaces — diffusion furnaces, brazing furnaces, vacuum heat treatment furnaces — use 1360°C high-purity as the dominant grade specification. The high-purity chemistry minimises out-gassing and trace-impurity migration to the process chamber, supporting tight atmosphere-quality requirements characteristic of these specialty applications.
Packaging & Storage
Packaging matches the 1260°C standard grade — PE-film-wrapped rolls in 7,200 × 610 mm or 3,600 × 1,220 mm formats, 4 to 8 rolls per pallet. Container shipment is typically 1,500–2,500 m² per 40' container in stock 25 mm thickness. MOQ is 50 m² sample, 500 m² production, 5,000 m² full-container shipment.
Documentation includes batch CoA with chemistry analysis covering Al₂O₃, SiO₂, Fe₂O₃, and trace alkali content — particularly important for the contamination-sensitive specialty applications targeted by this grade. Standard P100 / N95 respirator for installation handling.
